Avoiding
Pregnancy

Modern methods of NFP do not rely on ‘Rhythm‘ or ‘Calendar Calculations,‘ but are based on a scientific and accurate understanding of fertility.

An increasing number of women choose a natural method for health reasons or dislike of contraceptives.

Natural Family Planning:

  • Encourages shared responsibility.

  • Enables a couple to be independent and in control of their fertility.

  • Does not rely on regular cycles.

  • Can be used at all stages of reproductive life.

  • Is up to 98% effective against pregnancy, when used by motivated couples, taught by experienced teachers. (FPA  1995)

Can anyone use natural methods?

"Most people can use natural methods, but to use them well and for them to be effective, you need to be taught by a trained teacher."

‘Choosing and Using - Natural Family Planning‘, 1999
